Pair of Pixiu Tea Pet

This is a set of a female and a male pixiu, traditional Chinese guardian animals. The female, called a bixie, is said to fill a home with good luck by warding off evil while the male, called a tianlu, is said to bring in wealth from all directions. These pixiu are made from Yixing clay. Over time by being treated with tea, the clay will gain a deeper luster and sheen as well as take on the properties of the tea that is poured over it beginning to eventually even smell like the tea that is used.
